Weekly photo challenge: nostalgic

What Could Have Been

Why do we sometimes possess that feeling of Nostalgia, a sentimental longing for the past, especially for a particularly better and more blessed time? It is because it’s human nature to take things for granted when we get comfortable to having them. Once we no longer acquire that object we held appreciation for, we start to visualize what could have been. Quite frankly, we begin to persist in carrying this mindset that just maybe, we will be able to return to the past; yet, it never happens. One must accept the fact that the sun will continue to rise and set, that time will always keep moving forward; and thus, so must we, but never alone. If you do see yourself in one of these pictures and would like to have it taken down for personal reasons, please comment and I’ll be happy to do so.

  1. Jean, a lovely post. There IS something about a sun set to set off a train of nostalgic thought and melancholic light; the end of the day, the prospect of a new one at the end of night.
