Weekly photo challenge: carefree

The Company of Others

Quite often, the term Carefree is associated with being able to live life, or even just a period of it, without any problems, worries, or responsibilities. However, imagine a time where you have no shame, where you’ve already proven yourself to the world, and that every little secret you kept so close to you had already been revealed; if you had nothing to lose, nor nothing to gain, how would you live your life then? What would you want now? If one’s life was truly Carefree, no anxiety, no stress, what would be next for you in this world? It is for this reason that obstacles are placed on our journey, to see if what we really want, deep down inside of us, is worth our time, and if we are not spending every minute dedicated to the answer to that question, then what is the point? While I myself may not exactly know what my life’s dedication is, what I do know is that if there was ever such a time I was Carefree, all I’d want thereafter would to simply be in the company of others. Whether a close friend or not, the feeling and atmosphere that resonates between you and those around you, is something that no material object can replace. As always, if you do see yourself in one of these pictures and would like to have it taken down for personal reasons, please comment and I’ll be happy to do so.

  1. What a beautiful water photograph. It makes you appreciate what we have.

    Did you know:

    • There are nearly 1 billion people in the world that don’t have clean, safe water.
    • The women and children that collect water spend approximately 40 billion hours getting it.
    • This detracts from their ability to do other work, or get an education.
    • It takes $20 to supply one of these people with a clean water supply.
    • Each dollar spent provides an economic return of $12.
    • Not least because of the drop in medical care and infant mortality.
    • Can you spare a single dollar for this campaign to bring clean water to 50,000 people?
    • That’s less than a third of the price of a cup of coffee.
    • All money goes to providing water not to admin costs or profit.

If you can’t spare a single dollar, please pass this message on to others that might.

  2. I enjoy the company of others during the carefree days of summer…or any other season.
