Weekly photo challenge: endurance

Endurance is Synonymous with Love

To all mothers, whether those who are single, have borne more than one child, are of adopted children, or simply denoted as the biological parent, you are someone who has Endured, but also provided, the most. Before our birth, you go through hours of pain and labor, but are the first to truly hold us and give us warmth. As we grow older, you willingly accept our burdens when we come to you during trials of adversity and desertion, but lovingly respond with moral, physical, and intellectual education. And after your passing, you take with you the purest form of love, and yet leave an imprint of its beauty on us. There’s no doubt you have the power simply to go on, the power to endure, but you had also the power to create, to add, to delight, to amaze and to transform. ~ Moab is My Washpot, Stephen Fry. Our time together will never be enough, and it’s often, if not always, taken for granted, but it is necessary to remember that there’s a story behind everything. How a picture got on a wall. How a scar got on your face. Sometimes the stories are simple, and sometimes they are hard and heartbreaking. But behind all your stories is always your mother’s story, because hers is where yours begin. ~ For One More Day, Mitch Albom. In light of this that’s been said, your Endurance was never used as a means to please, but in fact to lengthen the minutes spent in your presence, for without toil and tribulation, you’d never have a reason to cling, to be overprotective, and to forever put yourself on the line. If you do find yourself in one of these pictures and would like to have it taken down for personal reasons, please comment and I’ll be happy to do so.

  1. Wow.. really touches on something most people take for granted till their gone… it’s sad but true. Parents are only overprotective because they care and only want what’s best… have you ever sat and actually chatted with them for some life experience info?
