Weekly photo challenge: signs

Signs of Love

How do you know when you have fallen in love? Is it when you experience the butterflies in your stomach from that first crush? Is it when time decelerates and your gaze is focused on that one person? Or you shouldn’t need to ask yourself whether or not you feel it; you should simply know? ~ Christina Chiang. Whatever your belief, whatever Signs come your way, it can be sometimes difficult to acknowledge whether you and your significant other share a mutual love, or if it is unbalanced and someone has to always take charge, while the other sits in the backseat. And yet, when the two of you do notice that same Sign, it can still lead to heated arguments, misjudgments, or other downward spirals. If so, is it even worth it to contemplate these periods of our lives when things are going well or not, or is it to our benefit to simply go with the flow and embrace life and all its obstacles with an open mind, turning your attention to that special individual who knows you better than yourself, has been with you through your highs and lows, and provides the warmth that is never truly extinguished. In truth, though, if you and your partner do truly love each other, that’s already a Sign that that relationship is all you need. There’s no need to be remembered by everyone and anyone because you already mean the world to somebody. Perhaps you’ve never left a mark on this earth to proclaim your name, but you have left an impression on him/her, memories of that smile when he/she said yes to your request to go out, those eyes when you first looked upon each other under the bedsheets, the stroke of his/her hair as you laid down together, and maybe even that silence you shared when your love became your child. Love does not appear with any warning signs. You fall into it as if pushed from a high diving board. No time to think about what’s happening. It’s inevitable. An event you can’t control. A crazy, heart-stopping, roller-coaster ride that just has to take its course. ~ Lucky, Jackie Collins. If you do find yourself in one of these pictures and would like to have it taken down for personal reasons, please comment and I’ll be happy to do so.
